These notebooks are inspired by the journal paintings I created during a month-long artist residency on an island out at sea. Unmoored from my responsibilities, family, and community, I fully immersed myself in the natural rhythms of each day.
From sunrise to sunset, I followed the sun along the water's edge, painting, reflecting, and journaling about the ideas and moments—both big and small—that shaped my identity and my place in the world. This ritual led to a new depth within myself and my creative practice. The air, light, and wisdom infusing my days forever transformed me.
