*Encaustic is a centuries-old painting process with melted beeswax, tree sap (damar resin), and oil paint. Beeswax is a natural surface and medium that may include tiny fibers or textures caught in the wax. This is a natural part of the process. The medium/surface takes two months to cure so treat it gently until then fully. Once fully cured, an encaustic painting can hang over a fireplace without melting. Even after curing it is never recommended to hang encaustic art in direct light, close to a window, as the passive solar can cause melting or sweating.

Note: Encaustic is a natural medium that may contain inclusions like air bubbles or particles in the wax surface.
