Serenity Now, 20x20"
Serenity Now, 20x20"
As Kramer famously said, “Serenity now!” It's an expression that was used often in my household growing up, but it’s true. Sometimes, we must step away from the world to soothe our souls and invoke our own serenity. It’s okay to put yourself first. In doing so, the ripple of your calmness will create space for others to do the same.
NOTE: Pardon the iPhone shot. It does not do justice to the soothing feeling of this painting.
DETAILS: Original encaustic painting on wood. 20x20,” 2022. Unframed art on a wood panel with 1+ 7/8” depth with white-washed edges. Hanging hardware included. Packed and shipped in insulated boxes to accommodate the fragility of the beeswax.
*Encaustic is a centuries-old painting process with melted beeswax, tree sap (damar resin), and oil paint. Beeswax is a natural surface and medium that may include tiny fibers or textures caught in the wax. This is a natural part of the process. The medium/surface takes two months to cure, so treat it gently until it is fully cured. Once fully cured, an encaustic painting can hang over a fireplace without melting. Even after curing, it is never recommended to hang encaustic art in direct light, close to a window, as the passive solar light can cause melting or sweating.
Note: Encaustic is a natural medium that may contain inclusions like air bubbles or particles in the wax surface.
