Silent Solitude, 6x6"
Silent Solitude, 6x6"
You might assume solitude is silent, so this title may seem redundant, but everyone’s experience of solitude is different. Sometimes, it is filled with roaring thoughts in your head before your spirit settles and your body re-calibrates to the rhythms of the earth. When you can sit there in true silence with a smile, you know you are finally on to something.
DETAILS: Original encaustic painting on wood. 6x6,” 2024. Unframed art on a wood panel with 1+ 7/8” depth and white-washed edges. Hanging hardware included. Packed and shipped in insulated boxes to accommodate the fragility of the beeswax.
*Encaustic is a centuries-old painting process with melted beeswax, tree sap (damar resin), and oil paint. Beeswax is a natural surface and medium that may include tiny fibers or textures caught in the wax. This is a natural part of the process. The medium/surface takes two months to cure, so treat it gently until it is fully cured. Once fully cured, an encaustic painting can hang over a fireplace without melting. Even after curing, it is never recommended to hang encaustic art in direct light, close to a window, as the passive solar light can cause melting or sweating.
Note: Encaustic is a natural medium that may contain inclusions like air bubbles or particles in the wax surface.
