Set After Set, 8x8"
It's a glorious day when there are nothing but waves ahead.
(There is a hint of purple in the sky on this one.)
DETAILS: Original encaustic painting on wood. 8x8,” 2024. Unframed art on a wood panel with 1+ 7/8” depth and white-washed edges. Hanging hardware included. Packed and shipped in insulated boxes to accommodate the fragility of the beeswax.
*Encaustic is a centuries-old painting process with melted beeswax, tree sap (damar resin), and oil paint. Beeswax is a natural surface and medium that may include tiny fibers or textures caught in the wax. This is a natural part of the process. The medium/surface takes two months to cure, so treat it gently until it is fully cured. Once fully cured, an encaustic painting can hang over a fireplace without melting. Even after curing, it is never recommended to hang encaustic art in direct light, close to a window, as the passive solar light can cause melting or sweating.
Note: Encaustic is a natural medium that may contain inclusions like air bubbles or particles in the wax surface.
